Education Programs

Computer Lab
Description - The computer lab is provided to PALW members as a tool to explore the internet and play games. The lab is also used to help and assist children with their homework. The lab is supervised by PALW staff or volunteers. The purpose is to ensure that there are activities, events, programs, and collaborations that provide direct services that are financially responsible and consistent with PALW's overall mission and vision.

Cost - Free to all PALW members
Dates and Times - Tuesdays 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Capacity - The computer lab holds a maximum of 10 students at a time.

Tutoring
Description - Tutoring and homework help

Cost - Free to all PAL members
Dates and Times - Mondays & Wednesdays 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Recreation Programs

Chess and Checkers
Description - The chess and checkers program provides children with another way to spend time while at the PALW. Students learn concentration techniques and problem-solving skills. The program is supervised by Dr. and Mrs. Guy.

Cost - Free to all PALW members. Sponsored by City of Wilmington Department of Parks and Recreation.
Dates and Times - Every Wednesday 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Game Room
Description - The game room is provided for the children of the PALW to have fun with the various games. The game room is equipped with four Playstation consoles, two foosball tables, one air hockey table, and a wide selection of board games. The game room helps children develop better social and interaction skills.

Open Recreation
Description - Open recreation takes place in the gym. There, children engage in fun activities such as basketball, jump rope, volleyball, and tennis. The gym is also equipped with an indoor track.

Kids Café Food Service Program
Description - The purpose is to provide an organized, well-supervised program that meets the goal of the food service program by serving fresh, well-balanced meals that are appetizing to children.

Description - Male rap session

Summer Programs

Summer Enrichment Camp
Description - The camp offers services such as remediation in language arts, math, phonics, reading, and spelling as a summer extension of the school year. The camp's purpose is to deliver academic services and gain a reputation for effective, cost-efficient educational services to nonpublic and public school students. The camp admits children 6 to 13 years of age. Camp activities include breakfast, lunch, snack, academics, computer, field trips to (little to no cost), swimming, skating, and arts & crafts.

Cost - The weekly camp fee is $125 per child. There is also a purchase-of-care option available for low-income families. The purchase-of-care child subsidy program helps limited-income families pay for child care while parents work or attend school or job training. The families receive a voucher for each child needing care. Eligibility for the subsidy is determined by income and family size.
Dates & Times - Dates will be announced soon. Camp hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. To 3:00 p.m.(Before camp care 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. & After camp care 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
Capacity - Up to 150 participants.
